===== Session Entry =====
The Session Entry tool is used to create and maintain Sessions for Exams.  A Session is a logical grouping of Registrants, which are [[candidate_entry|Candidates]] taking the Exam.  Sessions can be used to differentiate writing centers, different seating dates for Exams or other logical groupings such as first time writers vs repeat writers. 

Authorised users may create, modify or expire Session records.  

Session Entry is reached from the [[exam_entry|Exam Entry tool]].  Right click an Exam in the grid and choose **Calculations → Session Entry**.

=== Special Filters ===
The Session entry grid has special filter controls in the title bar.
  * Include Expired Records by default is unchecked.  This means Session records that have an Expiry Date prior to today are not displayed.  When checked, all Session records (including expired) are displayed. [[concepts#effective_and_expiry_dates|Effective and Expiry Dates]]

==== Deleting Sessions ====
To delete a Session click the X to the right of the Session row.  While the Session is deleted, all Registrants and their responses are transferred to the [[concepts#Archive Sessions|Archive Session]].

Right-clicking on a row in the Session grid will open a context menu.
