Item Entry Advanced Filters

Filtering on Items is essential to working with Items like on the Item Entry tool or linking Items to Exams on the Exam Layout tab. Conventional filtering on the Grids only allows for filtering based on one condition per field (eg Status=Active). Regular filtering requirements would be to select from multiple conditions (eg Status=Active or Field Testing). Items are linked to many types of lookup data, such as Competencies, References and Authors. These links require complex rsearch conditions to filter (eg Reference title contains “Fire”). Items also have verbose text stored in Notes and solutions. For efficiency, searches against these fields are split out from the rest of the conventional grid filtering.

Displaying Advanced Filtering

To display the Advanced filtering, check the Show/hide advanced filter check box. Unchecking the check box hides the advanced filter again.

Working with Advanced Filtering

By default on the Item tool, Inactive Items and prior versions of the Item are filtered out of the display. This is noted by the two check boxes (in orange) Include Expired and Include Prior Versions.
