Item Meta Type Entry
The Item Meta Type Entry tool is used to create and maintain Item Meta Types. Item Meta Types are used in setting up meta information for Items to hold rich text. Examples of Meta Types are “Rationale” or “Solution”
Authorised users may create, modify or expire Item Meta Type records.
Item Meta Type Entry is reached from the Main Menu, System → Item Meta Type Entry

Special Filters
The Item Meta Type Entry grid has special filter controls in the title bar.
- Include Expired Records by default is unchecked. This means Item Meta Type records that have an Expiry Date prior to today are not displayed. When checked, all Item Meta Type records (including expired) are displayed. Effective and Expiry Dates
- Language Selector is used to display language specific fields for the Item Meta Type records. The Title field for an Item Meta Type is language specific. Selecting a different language from the selector displays the alternate language values for the title field in the Item Meta Type grid.
Context Options
Right-clicking on a row in the Item Meta Type grid will open a context menu.
Edit General
Navigates to the General edit page for the selected record. The Item Meta Type general edit page allows users to edit general information for an Item Meta Type record. Once changes are made the user can click the Save button in the bottom right hand corner to commit changes to the database. Note: User permissions might be restricted by Form permissions or the record being locked.
Tab Strip
The tab strip at the top of the page allows the user to go back to the Item Meta Type entry grid by clicking Selection tab. Audit will navigate to the Audit page and displays Audit information for the selected record.
Alternate Language Text
The Title field is language specific. To maintain alternate languages of the Title, select the alternate language from the Language selector in the title bar. Make your changes and click the Save button.
Item Meta Type Fields
| Field | Description |

| Item Meta Type ID | Will populate automatically when the Item Meta Type is created. Unique identifier of the Item Meta Type. |
| Title | The title of the Item Meta Type. This is a language specific field. |
| Sequence | The sequence this Item Meta Type will appear in a list of Item Meta Types. This can be used to prioritize an Item Meta Type in the list. |
| Effective Date | By default, on most tools, only effective/non-expired records are available to be selected. Either to be edited or linked to another record. An effective record is a record with an Effective Date prior to today. By default, the Effective Date is set to the previous day on all newly created records. |
| Expiry Date | By default, on most tools, only effective/non-expired records are available to be selected. Either to be edited or linked to another record. An expired record is a record with an Expiry Date prior to today. By default, the Expiry Date is set to December 31, 2100 on all newly created records. |
Audit
Navigates to the Audit grid for the selected record.
