The Attachment general edit page allows users to edit general information for an Attachment record as well as upload an image or edit its rich text. Once changes are made the user can click the Save button in the bottom right hand corner to commit changes to the database. Note: User permissions might be restricted by Form permissions, Bank permissions (if in Bank Level 3 Banks and Bank Level) or the record being locked.

Attachment Images and Rich Text

An Attachment source can be an Image or rich text (HTML). To toggle between them use the Attachment Source radio buttons.

Maintaining Attachment Images

A graphic image can be uploaded. Click the Browse button.

This will open a file dialog. Select the file and click Open button.

The image file will be uploaded but will not preview yet.

To commit the uploaded image to the database click the Save button.

Download Image

Once the image is saved it will display. Also, the Download button becomes enabled. The Download button can be used to pull a copy of the image locally to be viewed or maintained.

Alternate Language Images

A graphic image for alternate languages of the Attachment can be uploaded by selecting the alternate language from the Language selector in the title bar and repeating the process.

Show Full Size Image

Attachment Images are scaled to fit the preview area. To see the full size of the image click the Show Full Size check box.

Maintaining Rich Text (HTML)

First toggle the Attachment Source radio button to HTML. This will open a preview of the rich text.

To edit it click anywhere in the rich text editor.

Alternate Language Text

Both the Title and Description field are language specific. To maintain alternate languages of the Title and Description select the alternate language from the Language selector in the title bar. Make your changes and click the Save button.

To link a Copyright, click the Select button next to the Copyright field.

This opens a Copyright selector. Select the Copyright and click the Add Selected button.

The Copyright selector closes and the selected copyright is displayed.

Attachment Fields

Field Description
Attachment ID Generated when the Attachment is created. Unique identifier of the Attachment.
Display ID This is entered by the user to help keep track of Attachments. It differs from the Attachment ID in that the Attachment ID is automatically generated while the Display ID is entered by the user. It can be Alphanumeric.
Title The title for the Attachment. This is a language specific field.
Description A description for the Attachment. Longer and more verbose description than Title. This is a language specific field.
Status In Development - The current record is still being created. It is not yet ready to be used on active exams.
Active - The current record is ready to be used on active exams. Inactive - The current record is not active, it cannot be used if it is set to inactive. For information regarding status rules, please see Status
External ID External IDs are used when mapping back and forth to other systems.
Effective Date By default, on most tools, only effective/non-expired records are available to be selected. Either to be edited or linked to another record. An effective record is a record with an Effective Date prior to today. By default, the Effective Date is set to the previous day on all newly created records. Effective and Expiry Dates

AudioCheck the box if this is an audio file.
Visual EnhancedIndicates visually enhanced documents exist for this attachment (for special needs writers).
Brailed Indicates brailled documents exist for this attachment (for special needs writers).
Attachment Type Select the attachment type from the drop down menu.
Stock Identifier Points to the stock inventory identifier.
Ready Indicates the attachment is ready to be used.
Audience Select the Audience for the exam from the drop down menu. This allows exams to be printed for a specific audience.
Printing Requirements Use the drop down to specify printing requirements. Outline specific printing requirements of the attachment (paper size).
GUID Global Unique Identifier.
Copyright ID Attachments can be linked to a Copyright.

Tab Strip

The tab strip at the top of the page allows the user to go back to the Attachment entry grid Selection, to the Notes and Custom page, to the Items page or Usage page. Audit will navigate to the Audit page and displays Audit information for the selected record.

Alternate Versions

If there are multiple versions of the Attachment, the user can navigate amongst them using the Select Version drop down in the blue info bar. See Versioning for more.
