Alternate Competency Values

Some Exams calculate the Exam TScore by Aggregating Competency TScores. These Competency TScores are calculating using Alternate Mean and Stdev for each unique Competency linked to an Item on the Exam.

To open the Alternate Competency Value maintenance click the Edit Values… button.

This will open the Exam Alternate Competency Values Edit window. Here, a grid will list each unique Competency linked to an Item on the Exam.

To edit the alternate mean or stdev for a competency, click the pencil to the left of the row. The users can then change the alternate mean and stdev. To save the changes click the check box to the left of the row. To cancel the changes click the x.

To remove a row from the grid, click the x to the right of the row.

To exit the Alternate Competency Value maintenance, click the Close button in the bottom left corner.

Notes

Once changes are saved, they are saved with the Exam until they are modified again. This means they do not have to be modified each time a calculation is run. If no values are setup for the competencies (ie 0), then the calculated mean and stdev for the competency will be used for calculating TScores.

If a new Competency is linked to the exam, either by changing the Items on the Exam or modifying an Item already linked to the Exam, the default values for the Alternate mean and Stdev will be 0, meaning the calculated mean and stdev for the competency will be used for calculating TScores.

If a Competency is removed from the Exam, either by changing the Items on the Exam or modifying an Item already linked to the Exam, the Competency Alternate values will be removed.

Tab Strip

The tab strip at the top of the page allows the user to go back to the Exam entry grid Selection, to the General page, to the Notes and Custom page, to the Layout page or Document page. Audit will navigate to the Audit page and displays Audit information for the selected record.

Alternate Versions

If there are multiple versions of the Exam, the user can navigate amongst them using the Select Version drop down in the blue info bar. See Versioning for more.
