Item Edit General
The Item General edit page allows users to edit general information for an Item record. General information includes Status, Effective and Expiry Dates, links to Authors, Copyrights and Competencies. Once changes are made the user can click the Save button in the bottom right hand corner to commit changes to the database. Note: User rights might be restricted by Form rights, Bank rights or the record being locked.
Item Fields
Field | Description |
---|---|
Item ID | Unique ID generated automatically when item is created. |
Display ID | This is entered by the user to help keep track of Items. It differs from the Item ID in that the Item ID is automatically generated while the Display ID is entered by the user. It can be Alphanumeric. |
External ID | External IDs are used when mapping back and forth to other systems. |
Status | In Development - The current record is still being created. It is not yet ready to be used on active Exams. Field Testing - The Item is available to Draft and Field Testing Exams. Active - The current record is ready to be used on active Exams. Inactive - The current record is not active, it cannot be used if it is set to inactive. LC Substatus | For LC Item banks only. Tracks a Substatus value for the Item. |
TR Substatus | For TR Item banks only. Tracks a Substatus value for the Item. |
Item Group ID | Click the Select button to open an Item Group selector. Binds the Item to the Item Group. |
Group Sequence | Sets the sequence of the Item within the Item Group. Item Groups that do not allow partial selection or randomized sequencing add all Items within the Group when linked to an Exam in the specified sequence. |
Account(TR) | TR Bank only. Values are Stock, CPS HR, RC, Client. Used for filtering Items. |
Client Code (TR) | TR Bank only. Free form text field. |
Access Level/Keyword | Free form text field. |
Effective Date | By default, on most tools, only effective/non-expired records are available to be selected. Either to be edited or linked to another record. An effective record is a record with an Effective Date prior to today. By default, the Effective Date is set to the previous day on all newly created records. Effective and Expiry Dates |
Expiry Date | By default, on most tools, only effective/non-expired records are available to be selected. Either to be edited or linked to another record. An expired record is a record with an Expiry Date prior to today. By default, the Expiry Date is set to December 31, 2100 on all newly created records. Effective and Expiry Dates |
Angoff |
Title | The title for the Attachment. This is a language specific field. |
Description | A description for the Attachment. Longer and more verbose description than Title. This is a language specific field. |
Audio | Check the box if this is an audio file. |
Visual Enhanced | Indicates visually enhanced documents exist for this attachment (for special needs writers). |
Brailed | Indicates brailled documents exist for this attachment (for special needs writers). |
Attachment Type | Select the attachment type from the drop down menu. |
Stock Identifier | Points to the stock inventory identifier. |
Ready | Indicates the attachment is ready to be used. |
Audience | Select the Audience for the exam from the drop down menu. This allows exams to be printed for a specific audience. |
Printing Requirements | Use the drop down to specify printing requirements. Outline specific printing requirements of the attachment (paper size). |
GUID | Global Unique Identifier. |
Copyright ID | Attachments can be linked to a Copyright. |
Tab Strip
The tab strip at the top of the page allows the user to go back to the Item entry grid Selection, to the Item Edit General page, to the Item Edit Text page, to the Item Edit Competency page, to the Item Edit Reference page, to the Item Edit Attachment page, to the Item Edit Statistics page or Usage page. Note: depending on system configuration not all options are available.
Alternate Versions
If there are multiple versions of the Item, the user can navigate amongst them using the Select Version drop down in the blue info bar. See Versioning for more.
